Fifth grade spent part of the morning observing worms to see in what kind of conditions they prefer to live. Students then discovered the critical role they play in decomposing dead material and releasing nutrients into the soil.






These students were recognized for maintaining academic excellence while also participating in an activity. Klayton for Speech, Tagen for wrestling, Laynee and Lexie for basketball, Dante and Ethan for basketball, Emma for Speech


We gave out basketball and wrestling letters and also RPAC certificates and medals.

Perkins County High School Track & Field Meet originally scheduled for Saturday, Apr. 5, 2025, has been postponed due to expected cold temps. DCS will not be attending the rescheduled meet due to competing in Cambridge on April 12th.

Prom King and Queen were crowned at the DCSHS 2025 Prom on Saturday evening, March 29. Congratulations to all of the Prom Court!

The speech team is bringing home some hardware from the state speech meet. Congrats to state champion Emma in Poetry. Emma also received 2nd in POI and Klayton 3rd in Extemporaneous. Together they placed 5th as a team. Go Tigers!



A big shoutout to 22 of our FFA members! They’ll be representing our chapter at the 97th Nebraska State FFA Convention next week, and we are excited! Our students will be showcased in 12 different contests and projects over the three days in Lincoln! Plus, the convention is live-streamed, and all sessions are open to the public, so everyone can join in on the fun!
A special highlight will be our State Degree Ceremony on Friday, April 4th at 1:30, where four of our members will walk across the stage to receive their degrees! We’ll be sure to keep everyone posted on all placings and results as we get updates.

Congratulations to the high school quiz bowl team for earning 1st place at the district quiz bowl competition today! They qualify to compete at state quiz bowl on April 30th.

The DCS chapter of the National Honor Society added four new members to their ranks on Thursday night, and honored graduating members by presenting them with their honor chords. Thank you to everyone who came to support our chapter and its members.
